Reflexology

Hi I’m hannah

I’m a highly trained professional reflexologist. I’ve been working in private practice for over five years and have supported hundreds of people during that time.

My specialism is reflexology for fertility & pregnancy but people come to me for reflexology for a whole host of reasons and everyone is welcome.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy. It is an energy based practice based on a series of mapped points across the body. These points are concentrated on the feet, hands and ears. The concept is that these points can be worked to soothe the body. It is very similar in principle to acupuncture but involves pressure rather than needles.

What Happens in a Reflexology session?

We’ll chat before your first session, this can take place via voice note, phonecall, email or DMs. I’ll ask a few questions about what you are hoping to get out of our session together and you can ask me any questions you might have.

When we meet, you’ll have a cuppa (or a glass of water) and we’ll talk for a short while about how you are feeling that day. If there is anything specific you need. Based on our earlier conversations, I’ll have planned a session for you. This chat allows me to make sure that plan is right for you and make any adjustments.

Then you’ll get really, really comfortable. We'll set you up with all the cushions and blankets so you are supported, warm and cosy.

For almost everyone that comes to see me, a big part of why they have sought out reflexology is for calming, soothing and feeling connected to themselves and their body. An opportunity for peace and reflection.

So usually sessions will focus on the reflex points on your feet as this is such a deeply relaxing treatment.  You’ll need to remove your socks but will be fully clothed. I recommend the most comfortable clothes you have and lots of layers for a session.

It’s really important that you acknowledge that this time is yours. Completely yours. I’ll be focused on you and your wellbeing for the entirety of our time together. My job is that you leave feeling more relaxed than when you arrived. You might like to think about what might be most supportive for you. That could be the music that calms you, the essential oils you love, or setting your intention for your session. If you don’t have anything in mind, I’ll have some suggestions.

After the treatment, we’ll have a conversation about anything that you noticed in the treatment. I’ll answer any questions that you have and will recommend that you relax for the rest of the day/evening.

FAQs

How many Reflexology sessions will I need?

Some people come twice a month and some people come once a year and lots are somewhere in-between.

This is one way that you might choose to make time for yourself. Depending on your life and your circumstances this might be something that you need regularly or it might be a moment in time where you need some extra care.

There are no rules and we can ensure you get what you need, no matter how many sessions we have together.

How does reflexology make a difference to my health and wellbeing?

It is an energy based practice that works on bringing balance to the body. You will get feedback from the points worked and you will be able to feel a difference from one point to the next. Most people find this fascinating, and really helpful to be able to notice what is happening with their physical body.

It is amazing to see what comes up for people in a session and the feedback they get.

If you have become really lost in your head, disassociated from your body, constantly thinking and not really feeling. There is something powerful about having your feet worked. That invitation to slow down, listen to your body and feel more present.

Also, investing your time, energy and money on yourself and your wellbeing is a wonderful thing to do for yourself. I think, especially as women, so much of our time and energy is spent caring for others, taking some time out to focus on you is so valuable.

How do I choose the right reflexologist for me?

It is a deeply personal choice. Go for someone that you feel comfortable and safe with. There are lots of great reflexologists in the North West, so hopefully you will find the right person for you.

If you would like to find out more about me before our session, you could head to my about page. Or you could join my mailing list where I share weekly letters (please note these are focused on wellbeing in motherhood).

I’m always happy to have a chat with you if you are thinking about booking in for a session. You can contact me to arrange a time to speak.

Where are you based?

I recently moved from Manchester. I continue to offer reflexology there.

In Preston, for now, I am working from either my home or yours. I’m based in Cottam and am happy to travel around Preston and surrounding areas to see you.
